Collecting Words Center

Here’s a simple, easy word center.  Let your students “collect” words into a simple dictionary.  My kids call it their ABC Book.  After they are done at their phonics center, they may use their ABC Book to collect words.  They find their words on the word wall, on the calendar, in their books, in posters, anywhere they see a word they may “collect” it.  The only rule is that in order for it to be in their ABC book, they must be able to read it.  They also love to read to their friends the list of words they have collected.  Great fun!
