Have you ever considered including calendar math into your math centers? Often, we only think of calendar math as a whole group activity. However, with my Calendar Books, you can make calendar math one of your centers. Students have a learning page (one of 6 different levels) that they can complete at centers each day. Then, during whole group calendar math, students are ready to review and participate. I love using calendar math to get my students looking more at numbers in a more in depth way, but by using the calendar books my students have become more engaged and they have started to take ownership over the learning that happens during calendar. Download a FREE copy of June’s Calendar Book at Raki’s Shop, or get a whole year’s worth, complete with 12 covers and 6 leveled learning pages that encompass math standards for grades K-5, for just $7.00 from Raki’s Shop.
I’ve also made a little video for you of how I use these calendar books in my classroom.
