Wild about Animals...Wild about Nonfiction...Wild about Reading!

Here's a literacy center idea that your beginning readers will go wild over. First, students read some basic information about a wild animal. The passages are designed for beginning readers—the structure of each passage is predictable and the sentences are repetitive.

Next, students complete a corresponding tree chart.
Students can use the picture cards and vocabulary cards to help them answer the questions.

I'd like for you to try it out, so I'm putting the alligator pages on google here.

You've also got a chance to win the unit! Go to my blog to enter.
