Autumn Math Center: Sorting

Hi everyone. It has been a while since my last post. I have a very busy but wonderful group of kindergarten students this year. Plus, my children are really active with lots of things so lately I kind of feel like I live in my car. Okay done with  my excuses! How are all of you? Are you having a great year so far? I hope so! Well, here in New York, the signs of Autumn are everywhere. Leaves are changing, pumpkins are out in yards, leaf blowers are going crazy, etc.

While running errands today, I stopped by Target. Whenever I go to Target I always visit the dollar bins first. Today I found these really cute plastic, fall-theme table scatters. It looks like they would be used as a table decoration at Thanksgiving. They are clear with lots of pretty colors. I bought leaves and acorns. I thought they would be a great math center to practice sorting. I also made a sheet to go along with them. I organized into two sections to see if they could sort into two groups (by type: leaves and acorns) or into three groups: (color: red, brown, yellow).

You can also use actual leaves, fall theme erasers (tons at Dollar Tree right now) or really anything. I hope you can use it! Enjoy!
