"Who Am I?" Inference Task Cards for Primary

Many students are not able to make inferences when reading.  This has been a constant struggle for educators ~ like myself~ and parents to teach.  I was just sitting here thinking (while it is snowing outside).......What are some ways I can contribute to minimizing this problem?  The bulk of making inferences is mostly taught in the higher levels.  I think this skill should be taught in the primary levels, as well.  This skill should not just be introduced in the primary levels, but developed extensively.  Therefore, students would have a lot of exposure to this particular skill by the time they are in the intermediate/higher grade levels.

So, I decided to create a series of inference resources for primary grade levels.  This will ensure many opportunities for primary students to encounter making inferences.  The first inference resource is called ~INFERENCE "WHO AM I?" CARDS~.  This resource is ideally for 1st and 2nd Graders.  You can also use this with Kindergartners by reading the cards a loud and have them guess the answer.  This resource can be used in centers/stations, whole-groups, guided reading groups, etc.

Take a look at a sample below.......
