This is the ultimate in differentiation!  These main idea task cards are organized by guided reading level.  Fiction and nonfiction passages are both included.  As students progress to each guided reading level, new phonics sounds are introduced and phonics sounds from previous guided reading levels are reviewed.  Students build comprehension and phonics skills simultaneously!  When you teach main idea, hand out the task cards at each students' level.  10 main idea task cards are provided for each guided reading level.
