Magic Tree House-Dinosaurs Before Dark
Many of my first graders are ready now for chapter books. I find it is always tricky to really tell if they are comprehending these chapter books or not. I try to have individual reading conferences with my kiddos, but it is impossible to check in with each of them everyday.
There are a ton of great products out there to go along with the Magic Tree House series. Many of them take a ton of prep and a ton of checking by the teacher, neither of which I have time for! For this reason, I have made a simple reading response packet that I can check quickly. All you have to do is copy it. They can keep it in their book baskets or pockets and respond as they are reading.
I am hoping that these reader response packets will be a way for me to do a quick check to see if they are really understanding what they are reading. I wanted to make something simple and also did not take up a ton of paper. Enjoy!
